Rasa Sayang -- The most famous folk Song in Malaysia !!

Rasa sayang, eh rasa sayang, sayang eh,

Hei lihat Nona jauh rasa sayang, sayang eh.

Buah cempedak di luar pagar, Ambil galah tolong jolokkan.

Kami budak baru belajar, Kalau salah tolong tunjukkan.

Rasa sayang, eh rasa sayang, sayang eh,

Hei lihat Nona jauh rasa sayang, sayang eh.

Dua tiga kucing berlari, Mana sama si kucing belang.

Dua tiga boleh dicari, Mana sama adik seorang.

Thaipusam-- A big Hindu festival

THAIPUSAM is an annual Hindu festival which draws the largest gathering in multi-racial Malaysia. This big festival is celebrated at various places in Malayisa like Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang etc in Jan or Feb.

The temple at the Batu Caves, near Kuala Lumpur, often attracts over one million devotees and tens of thousands of tourists.

On the day of the festival, devotees will shave their heads undertake a pilgrimage along a set route while engaging in various acts of devotion, notably carrying various types of kavadi (burdens). At its simplest this may entail carrying a pot of milk, but mortification of the flesh by piercing the skin, tongue or cheeks with vel skewers is also common.

The most spectacular practice is the vel kavadi, essentially a portable altar up to two meters tall, decorated with peacock feathers and attached to the devotee through 108 vels pierced into the skin on the chest and back.

Fire walking and flagellation may also be practiced. It is claimed that devotees are able to enter a trance, feel no pain, do not bleed from their wounds and have no scars left behind.

Believe it or not? Check this out in the clip below.

Gunung Ledang -- Mount Ophir

Gunung Ledang, also known as Mount Ophir, is one of the most famous mountain in Johor because of its beautiful Malay legend about Princess of Mount Ledang (Puteri Gunung Ledang) who was once wooed by the Sultan of Malacca.

In 2006, my colleagues and I had conquered this legendary Mountain (1852m)

A gorgeous film called Puteri Gunung Ledang (The Princess of Mount Ledang) was crafted to present this beautiful legend on the big screen. And this is Malaysian film industry's successful attempt to venture into global market.

Tourism Malaysia 2007

Arr Ha... finally got it. Tourism Malaysia Promotion 2007 short clip.

Now Everyone can fly, the slogan used by low-cost carrier AirAsia. Now I pretty agree with that when I read the news from newspaper theStar that another price war has broken out between Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and AirAsia.
MAS offers RM9 tickets, AirAsia seats start at 99 sen.

See what people say about this“How can one resist a holiday when the price of a ticket is cheaper than a plate of nasi lemak?”

Bullet Train between KL and Singapore?

The YTL Group is proposing to government to build a bullet train project between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore worth RM8bil. Personally I think this is because YTL group may have seen the arising oppurtunity when the two casinos and integrated resorts are built in Sentosa Singapore.

It is going to be fun to see KL and Singapore having the bullet train services like what Japan does.

Genting is Asia's largest casino operator, behind Las Vegas Sands, Harrah's Entertainment Inc, MGM Mirage and Wynn Resorts Ltd as the fifth largest casino company in the world.
In 2010, we would see another Genting in Sentosa, Singapore.

The highest point in ASEAN

Yo ~ Ho ! 12 Nov 2006, my good friend SJ and I , together with a new friend Vivian whom we met in the midst of hiking the Mountain, eventually conquered the ASEAN's highest point, Low's peak (4095.2m) of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah of Malaysia. See how happy we were while posting in front of our mountain Guide, Mr Moidin Sompot who kindly helped us to snapshot this historical and victorious moment. The experience is just breathtaking !

Guess how much the air ticket (from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinbalu) and accomodation at Mt Kinabalu cost? What ? It's RM 250 (US$ 68) only. What a BIG thanks to Malaysia budget Airline, AirAsia.

What do you wait for? This year is Visit Malaysia 2007. Check it out. Strongly recommend you this website Mount-Kinabalu-Borneo. This website contains lots of traveling tips and guides.
